Living in Community Guest
Astrid Gude and Jackie Pond
Do you feel called to deepen and explore your experience of your inner self, of other people, work, nature and of the Findhorn Foundation? The Living in Community Guest Programme (LCG) is a creative, dynamic and purposeful way to explore the meaning of service and the gifts that come through living in community, to create an ever more meaningful experience of life.
The programme is available in four-week segments, starting every Saturday except 12 January, 24 May and 15 November 2008. It begins with clarifying your individual purpose and ends with a personal review to support you in integrating your experiences and to explore the appropriateness and possibility of staying on at the Findhorn Foundation. Using the process of attunement you commit to working in a service department (our gardens, kitchens, homecare or maintenance departments) as a place where you can apply the spiritual principles we practise here.
Along with all the experiences you will have living and working in the community, we also meet twice a week as a group for sharing, meditation and education.
How to apply:
When you choose to join LCG for the first time or return to the programme after several months or years, you need to participate in either Exploring Community Life, Spiritual Practice, Being Here, or one of our
Working Weeks. You can also apply after having taken part in our month-long programme English in Community or Ecovillage Training.
The prerequisite programme can be done any time within three months prior to joining LCG. We will invite you for an intake interview and an attunement. Please be aware that participation in the LCG programme is not guaranteed in advance. LCG is also a necessary step towards making a longer commitment through the Living Education Staff programme and beyond.
If you have just one month to be at Findhorn, you can participate in Exploring Community Life as your first week and then participate in the LCG programme for just 3 weeks.
If you are age 25 or under, we are offering this programme at a reduced price to make it easier for young people to afford.
